In 1995, Joshua graduated at the top of his class from the Academy of Healing Arts in West Palm Beach, FL., one of the Country’s founding and most well respected Massage Therapy Schools.  He spent the next four years honing his skills and finding his niche’ in working with athletes…a natural fit, as his youth was spent competing in a variety of sports, and focusing 14 years in the water as a swimmer and water polo player.  In 1999, just after the US Women’s Soccer Team had won the World Cup, he was asked to fill in as a therapist for one night with them at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. The team really liked Joshua’s work, and he was selected by the veteran players to work directly with them. The next night, Joshua found himself standing outside Mia Hamm’s condo, table by his side, about to begin what he did not realize was going to be a lifelong journey of working with World Class Athletes!  Months later, the Woman’s Team asked Joshua to travel with them to the Sydney Olympic Games.  Shares Joshua, “I really have so much to thank these ladies for! Mia Hamm, Brandy Chastain, Julie Fowdy…these women shared my contact info and really positive feedback about my work with every team Coach, and Trainer who came to San Diego to train! That snowballed into a chain of invites and opportunities with a multitude of sport disciplines.”

From 2004-2009, Joshua relocated Hands On Wellness to Palm Beach, Florida, where he built a lucrative Practice working with World Class Equine professionals in the Polo, Dressage and Jumping community. It was after the economic decline in 2008 that the idea of moving back to San Diego began to beckon.

In 2009, he made another cross-country leap of faith and began creating another practice from the ground up. In the Fall of 2011, the Director of Sports Medicine at the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista contacted Joshua, informing him that he had heard a lot about his work, and invited Joshua to have a lunch meeting. That lunch turned into a modest one day a week offer, and three weeks later, Joshua was informed that the Resident Athletes had requested that he be made a full time Therapist. From 2011 to 2015, Joshua was contracted as the full-time, Lead Massage Therapist as a member of the Sports Medicine Team at the US Olympic Training Center. He has had the opportunity to work directly with in supporting the following U.S. Teams:
